2018 Ontario Summer Games Information

    The Opening Ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 2nd at TD Stadium, and will feature appearances by Scott Helman and Courage My Love! The event is free to attend and open to the public. No tickets are required. Doors open at 5:30pm with the Athlete's Parade beginning at 6:30pm.

    Special rates and blocks have been secured at local hotels specifically for the Ontario Summer Games family and spectators. They can be found at www.london2018.ca/hotels.

    NO! Thanks to the support of our great sponsors, all events, including the Opening Ceremony featuring Scott Helman, will be free to attend!

    Parking across the Games will be FREE in Ontario Summer Games designated lots. Please look for the Summer Games Parking signs when you arrive at venue to find these lots. Information and location of these lots can be found on each specific sport page at www.london2018.ca/sports

Volunteers

    Due to overwhelming demand, we will no longer be accepting new volunteers. Thank you for your interest and we hope to have you join us for the 2020 Ontario Summer Games.

  • Toggle Question Can I use the volunteer hours towards my high school requirements?Can I use the volunteer hours towards my high school requirements?

    Yes, we will produce a report and certificate of completed volunteer hours that can be used towards your high school requirements.

  • Toggle Question Is there a need for a police check to volunteer and how to I go about obtaining one?Is there a need for a police check to volunteer and how to I go about obtaining one?

    Yes, all volunteers must obtain a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) as most participating athletes are minors.

    If you live in the City of London, please visit London Police Services Background Checks to process a request for a Police Vulnerable Sector Check. You will need a letter from the Organizing Committee, available here, along with 2 pieces of government issued identification, one of which must have a photo. The PVSC costs $15 and can be done online. If you are under 18, it cannot be done online and must be done in person at London Police Screening Services located at 601 Dundas Street. If you live outside London, you must obtain a PVSC at your local police detachment.

    London will be hosting the 2018 Ontario Summer Games beginning on Thursday, August 2nd to Sunday, August 5th. The Games will take place at multiple locations across the city, with the full list of venues being announced in early 2018.

    The London 2018 Ontario Summer Games will feature over 3500 participants (athletes, coaches, and officials), with the athletes ranging from 12-18 years of age.

    London was awarded the 2018 Ontario Summer Games by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport on August 11th, 2016 through a competitive bid process.

    Sports represented in the Ontario Summer Games vary from year to year and are determined through an application process conducted by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport with the respective Provincial Sport Organizations.
